Her mother, Parvathy Jayaram was also a most sought after actress in the 80s and 90s. She is a costume designer and classical dancer.
She is also the sister of actor Kalidas Jayaram, who appears in both Malayalam and Tamil Films
Working both in Tamil and Malayalam films, Kalidas was widely acclaimed for his role in 'Thangam', one of the four films of the anthology 'Paava Kadhaigal'.
Kalidas is currently awaiting the release of Kamal-starrer 'Vikram', that is to hit the theatres on 3rd of June. While Jayaram will be seen in Maniratnam's Ponniyin Selvan
